Helping Kids Since 1993

School News Nationwide (SNN), is a New York City based not-for-profit organization, founded by Bill Tingling in 1993.

SNN’s innovative programs have helped thousands of youth from low-income communities develop the academic and personal skills to succeed as adults.  A pioneer in the use of media technology, SNN’s first project enabled students from underperforming schools to produce newsletters and videos about their lives.

Beginning in 2005, SNN’s second project, Words of Bonds, brought Holocaust survivors and African-American elders into schools to convey the commonality of their historical experience and build bonds among metro area youth.

SNN’s newest project, Tour for Tolerance, will bring an interactive tolerance exhibit directly to schools throughout the country. The exhibit  will inspire student’s empathy and the shared values of tolerance, respect, and dignity  at a moment when the need for these qualities  is critically important not only for every individual, but for society as a whole.

The Tour for Tolerance is projected to begin serving schools in 2018.
